The Fallout are a Canadian political 3 piece who have just released an excellent new album called The Times Have Never Changed and it's out now as a joint release from Discos Machete and Rebel Time Records.
The album is 15 tracks of pacey, tuneful, fist pumping anthems, with their interpretations of this fucked up world chronicled into the biting lyrics, with Lord Byron's distinctive vocals to the fore. I am going with the title track The Times Have Never Changed.

A vision of walking around and imagining my Walkman headphones were actually giant speakers accompanying me forcing the world into dancing and performing their tasks to my music. If I had giant speakers up in the sky blasting my own music then everywhere I went people would have to listen to my music and the world would have a uniform emotion, a sort of interconnectedness. Like an unrelenting soundtrack to which everyone must acquiesce… These are my speakers in the sky.

Boyracer - Hit And Miss
Boyracer are an indie rock band from Wetherby who were founded back in 1990 by ever present vocalist/guitarist Stuart Anderson have just released their 13th album. Titled On A Promise, it's available on vinyl and as a digital download.
There's some very good tracks on there, initial highlights include Bunk Off Work Today, Girl In A Soul Band and the single Bored and Lonely but it's an all over consistently good album.
This track comes with a video and it's an upbeat pop delight so that's the one I'm posting today. It's titled Hit And Miss...

Snuff - The Bells of Hell
Snuff are a British punk rock band formed in Hendon in 1986. The original line-up was Duncan Redmonds on drums and vocals, Simon Wells on guitar and vocals and Andy Crighton on bass, with Dave Redmonds being added to the line-up on trombone before the release of Flibbiddydibbiddydob. Their original run was until 1991 before splitting up and then getting back together in 1994. They have had various lineup changes over the year.
Snuff have released their material through a variety of independent record labels including their own, 10past12records, as well as on Fat Wreck Chords.
They recently released a new EP that was recorded during the sessions for last year's album There's A Lot Of It About and originally intended to be sold on their May tour, it's got a bit of everything we've come to expect from the band.
I am sharing The Bells Of Hell which is an infectious cover of a British airmen's song from World War 1 which featured in the 1969 movie Oh! What A Lovely War. I'll warn you now, once you hear it you won't be able to get it out of your head.
I'm not going to apologise for that!

ARSE feat. PARTY DOZEN - Power Tripper
Here's a collaborative effort between ARSE and Party Dozen and it's on a split ep from the two Sydney bands. Besides the opening track, which sees both bands join together, both bands also contribute a song apiece. It was released back in 2018 by Grupo Records and you can check it out here.
Joint male and female vocals combine over an intense hardcore backbeat, it's powerful and intoxicating. More bands should combine their talents if the result is going to be as good as this.

blink-182 - Josie
blink-182 is an American pop punk band formed in Poway, California in 1992. Since 2015, the lineup of the band has consisted of bass guitarist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker, and guitarist and vocalist Matt Skiba. Founded by Hoppus, guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Scott Raynor, the band emerged from the Southern California punk scene of the early 1990s and first gained notoriety for high-energy live shows and irreverent lyrical toilet humour. Hoppus is the only constant band member.
In its early years, Blink-182 toured heavily behind the band's debut, Cheshire Cat (1995). The group signed with major label MCA Records to co-distribute its second album, Dude Ranch (1997). Raynor was fired midway through a 1998 tour and replaced by Barker.cthe group's next two releases, Enema of the State (1999) and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket (2001), were enormous successes on the strength of radio and MTV airplay. Blink-182 followed in 2003 and marked a stylistic shift for the group.
Enema Of The State was the first album that I heard, but Dude Ranch has always been one that I loved. It was one of those right album at the right times for a 13/14 year old and one that me and my mates loved. We would spend breaks at school listening to the Mark, Tom & Travis show.
I am sharing Josie which shows off their early pop punk trademark and dual vocals. Right in the nostalgia's.

Teenage Bottlerocket is an American punk rock band formed in Laramie, Wyoming, United States in 2000.
The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, following the dissolution of their previous band, Homeless Wonders, in 2000. The band's music is heavily influenced by guitarist and co-vocalist Kody Templeman's other band, The Lillingtons, and punk rock acts such as Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Green Day, Bouncing Souls, and Misfits.
Very kuch a Ramones type band, their songs are basic yet catchy and will have you smiling and bopping around wherever you are listening.

AJJ - People II: The Reckoning
AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad. Their lyrics handle themes of shyness, poverty, humanity, religion, addiction, existentialism, and politics. AJJ's core members are singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette and bassist Ben Gallaty.
People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World is the second studio album from folk punk band AJJ. The album was released by Asian Man Records on September 11, 2007. The title is derived from a line in Kurt Vonnegut's book, Hocus Pocus which itself is a reference to Barbra Streisand's song "People.
A great folk song with some fantastic lyrics. Wait for the outro and tell me if Mrs RObinson will ever recover from this?

Rancid - Olympia, WA
Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California in 1991. Founded by former members of the band Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. Over their 29-year career, Rancid remained signed to an independent record label and retained much of its original fan-base, most of which was connected to its underground musical roots.
Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being the only continuous members. Their current lineup consists of Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Freeman on bass and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, and Branden Steineckert on drums. The band was formed by Armstrong, Freeman, and former drummer Brett Reed, who left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Steineckert. This lineup recorded their first album, with Frederiksen joining the band on their subsequent tour.
To date, Rancid has released nine studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide, making it one of the most successful independent punk rock groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho", and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone.
One of my favourite tracks from "...And Out Come The Wolves" is Olympia, WA" so this is what I am sharing today. Great lyrics, dual vocals and what a bassline?!?!

The Hold Steady - Stay Positive
The Hold Steady is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. The band consists of Craig Finn (vocals, guitar), Tad Kubler (guitar), Galen Polivka (bass), Bobby Drake (drums), Franz Nicolay (keyboards) and Steve Selvidge (guitar).[1] Noted for their "lyrically dense storytelling,"[2] and classic rock influences, the band's narrative-based songs frequently address themes such as drug addiction, religion and redemption, and often feature recurring characters based within the city of Minneapolis.
Stay Positive is the fourth studio album by The Hold Steady, released on July 15, 2008 through Vagrant Records. I am going with the 8th track from this album which is also the title track, Stay Positive. It is a great example of the narrative-based style and references many other bands in some way. The chorus is also fantastic.

Maid Of Ace - The Terror
Maid Of Ace are a Hastings based old school punk foursome made up of 4 sisters; Alison (lead vocals/guitar), Anna (vocals/guitar), Amy (bass/backing vocals) and Abby (drums). Championed by legendary X Ray Spex frontwoman Poly Styrene, the girls came out of the womb rocking and played their first gig in 2005 at school. Since then they've shared a stage with The Buzzcocks, The Vibrators, The Casualties, Vice Squad, The Adolescents and Viv Albertine to name just a few. Influenced by the likes of Rancid and The Distillers (as well as colourful 80's indie rockers We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It) these girls certainly know how to kick up a racket.
I saw them support The Interrupters back in 2018 and really enjoyed their set. I have been keeping an eye on them since and this is a track that they released earlier this year from their forthcoming album which is/was scheduled for a summer release.
If this track is anything to go by then we are in for a treat! This is The Terror.

Consumed - Wake Up With A Smile
Most famous for thier track Heavy Metal Winner having a spot on Tony Hawke's Pro Skater 2, Consumed are a punk rock band from Nottingham who formed in 1992. Following their debut EP, Breakfast at Pappa’s in 98, Consumed’s first full length Hit for Six was released in 99 on Fat Wreck Chords. I always find it strange that they signed to Fat Wreck.
The band broke up in 2003 and I never got chance to catch them live in this period but they reformed in 2015 and are currently active. They released a video for the track "What Would Cliff Burton Do?" in May 2018. Their EP "A Decade of No" was released in July 2018 through SBÄM records (Europe) and Umlaut Records (UK).
Hit For Six is my favourite release by them and I think Wake Up With A Smile was the first track I heard by them through downloading on Limewire or the like. It is therefore the track I am sharing today.

Dead To Me - I Wanna Die In Los Angeles
Dead To Me is a punk rock
band from San Francisco, founded by members of One Man Army and Western
Addiction. I'm a sucker for great, bouncy, melodic music that has an
edge, especially when the lyrics are darker than the music would have
you believe. I have gone for the track I Wanna Die In Los Angeles which
addresses the bleak realisation that if a relapse into drug addiction
occurs they might as well say they wanna die in Los Angeles. All this is
set to buzzing pop punk that manages to turn these lyrics into a
massive sing-along. Great track.

Hoi-Poi Farplane Wind - Life With
Hoi-Poi Farplane Wind are a melodic puk rock band from Thessaloniki, Greece who recently released their album Sain't Adorable.
I am going with a track that immediately stood out on my first listen through of the album. Opening with some great, powerful gang vocals which are accompanied by a subtle harmony. This was such a brilliant way to start the song. This technique continues through the opening two verses and had me itching to sing along. The middle section of the song is a dramatic instrumental which is then joined by a spoken word segment before building back up to the track’s big finale.

The Kopek Millionaires are from Manchester and they make catchy punk tunes that seem to find most reviewers throwing around comparisons with The Boys and Buzzcocks.

They'll soon be releasing a new split 4 track 12" with New York hardcore outfit Thulsa Doom and they've released a single from it which you can grab from Bandcamp at "name your price".

The Dogtown Rebels are a 4 piece punk band from Norwich that mix grit and melody to cook up a catchy tune. This track is about the everyday struggles of the working class and how taking your own life can be a grim option. The Felice Brothers - Frankie's Gun!
The Felice Brothers are an American folk rock/country rock band from New York. The band has two main members, Ian and James Felice. Former members include their brother Simone Felice, their friend Josh "Christmas Clapton" Rawson, frequently described as a traveling dice player, fiddle player Greg Farley, and drummer David Estabrook. At other times, they have featured a horn section in the band, composed of local Hudson Valley musicians.
The track I'm sharing today is Frankie's Gun! which featurers on their 2008 self titled fifth album. It's a great song and, in my opinion at least, it puts more popular bands of thus genre to shame (see Mumford & Sons).

The new EP is physically released at the end of the month or the digital version is available now.
This song is probably the catchiest on the ep, maybe due to the infectious handclaps.

Owl John - Songs About Roses
Scott Hutchison was (and always will be) one of my all time favourite
lyricists. He had such a way with words: a way of articulating the
struggles of the human condition that aches in all of us from time to
time. He never evaded the explanation that life can often feel like
drowning. He was a solid inspiration to so many people.
Today marks the second anniversary of his passing and tonight at 6pm, Tim Burgess from The Charlatans is doing one of his many #TimsTwitterListeningParty events. It happens to be Midnight Organ Fight, by Frightened Rabbit, so feel free to log in and have a listen.

LITIGE are a punk 4 piece from Lyon featuring a line up of Louise (vocals), Morgan (guitar), Camille (drums) and Tifène (bass). They reccently released an impressive new album titled En Eaux Troubles (In Troubled Waters). It mixes grit and melody to produce something a little bit special. Lead single Regardez Moi (a balanced critique of the selfie generation) promised much and happily the album doesn't disappoint. Other songs deal with macho moshers, fashion punks, global destruction, toxic relationships and friendship. So the usual in current times.

California, originally formed in 2002. The band's current line-up consists of
vocalist Matt Caughthran, guitarists Joby J. Ford and Ken Horne, bass guitarist
Brad Magers, and drummer Joey Castillo. The band have released five studio
albums, as well three additional albums of mariachi music under the moniker of
Mariachi El Bronx.
Heart Attack American is the mission statement of the band, it’s everything the band think that a punk song should be: it’s a complete exorcism of disgust with life, disgust with yourself, and disgust with everything you see going on around you. It all came from an idea that had been stewing in Matt's head in frustration and hate for. They all pulled it out together, and that’s what The Bronx is.
