Justin Townes Earle - Harlem River Blues

So on the 20th August we lost Justin Townes Earle far too soon. Justin was just 38 years old.
An excellent musician, son of Steve Earle who gave him his middle name in honor of his own mentor, singer and songwriter Townes van Zandt. It must be difficult to make a name for yourself when your dad is Steve Earle and you have the pressure of Townes in your name! But I honestly think he did it.

He had a troublesome time growing up though and started using drugs at the age of 12. When Justin was 2 Steve Earle had left Justin with his mother as he was in a mess with drugs himself at the time, he didn’t reunite with his son until he was clean in 1994. He spent time with his Father and other musicians and became a great singer/songwriter in his own right.

I have been debating which track to go with and have decided to just go with the biggest hit that always brings a smile to my face, Harlem River Blues. Great beat to this one.
I would love to be sat in a bar and see it somebody cover it. It's one that could *almost* get you up. Almost.
