Drug Church - Weed Pin

Drug Church is a post-hardcore band from Albany, New York. Imagine the hits of The Pixies played by Planes Mistaken For Stars, whilst Bane’s Aaron Bedard half speaks half sings the sharp, witty, insightful lyrics of The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and you might be along the correct lines.

Cheer is the band's third album and was released in 2018. It continues their development into a unique band who can straddle genres and pigeonholes whilst retaining the visceral aggression that debut album Paul Walker displayed. I have gone with Weedpin which is a great example of their use of what can only be described as aggressive melody with aplomb. In particular the line "hard to choose a career, when you're bad at everything" is something that I think about on a regular basis.
