Farse - Hopskotch

Ah, the days of p-rock and Moonska tours. Farse were one of the first bands I saw back in the early 2000's. It was a tour supporting [Spunge] on their "The Story So Far" gigs with the previously posted Spankboy opening the show back in November 2002.

Farse were described as a ska-punk band from Birmingham, England but spanned a number of genre's and are therefore not your typical ska-punk band but fuse styles into their own original mix. They have their own style and sound, probably because they can switch from reggae to ska to a heavier sound in the blink of an eye. Oh, and vocalist Ollie just has one of those unique voices that whenever you hear it you instantly know it’s Farse.

That being said, the song I am sharing is Hopskotch which is 90 seconds of a classic ska riff and the brilliant use of Ollie rolling his words along with his strained sounded voice which makes this record stand out even more from other bands. Oh, and there are no actual lyrics to this song with them being changed every time they played it live.

It's a shame we didn't get more from them, but their 2 albums are definitely worth checking out. Boxing Clever is on Spotify so go give it a shot.
